Palouse

The Palouse is a unique, fertile area in Eastern Washington and Central Idaho, although precise boundaries vary from person to person. Photographically, it is unlike anything I've seen, and thus provides numerous opportunities. I love the view from Steptoe Butte, which provides seemingly unlimited compositions, both at sunrise and sunset. Fortunately, it's right in my "back yard". Unfortunately, I don't visit often enough. :-)

Just before sunrise on the east side of Steptoe, the moon was setting in the west.

As a storm approached from the west near sunrise, the light peaked through the eastern clouds, momentarily creating a partial rainbow. Within minutes, the storm enveloped Steptoe Butte, and it poured heavily.
