| I
was raised in Arizona, although my pursuit of photography had only
begun by the time I moved away. I return every year or so to visit
family in Phoenix., and try to work in a photo stop or two. But with
the great distance from my home in Spokane, and the usually limited
time there, it's hard to fit in much shooting. That said, my desert
blood always draws me back to Arizona, where I really feel at home with
my camera. So, I'm always in conflict! :-) Such is life!! |

| The
first two thumbnails will take you to other pages. Sedona and
Monument Valley are two of my favorite places to shoot, and thus
each deserve their own page. And, while the Grand Canyon is
magnificent, and provides many photo opportunities,. I
generally
avoid it because of the crowds, so you'll only see a few images. |

This
view will take your breath away!. As you approach the
ledge, the vastness kind of creeps up on you, and then you suddenly
come to this shear drop-off. To take it all in, photographically, you
need a really wide angle lens, probably 21mm or wider. (19mm here.)

One of those mornings at the Grand Canyon, when the horizon
was obscured with clouds. Your hope is for the Sun to break
through , if only for a few moments. As I faced East, that moment came.
I turned to the West, to see this magnificent glow from the Canyon. My
shutter, and a host of others', clicked away for a short time. Moments
later, I turn back to the East as the clouds smothered the Sun. Timing
is everything!!
