Canyonlands

Canyonlands National Park is a large park, comprising 3 mains units, Island in the Sky, The Needles, and the Maze. Island in the Sky is the most easy to access, near Moab.
If you haven't been to Mesa Arch (in the Island in the Sky unit) before, and have only seen pictures, you'd expect a pretty good size arch, comparable to what one sees in Arches Nat'l Park. And looking at the first image, wouldn't cause you to think differently. However, the 2nd image here gives a much different perspective, and shows it's relatively small size. Nonetheless, it's a magnificent sight at sunrise!

I've included several images from Dead Horse Point, a State Park, adjacent to Canyonlands.

Another Park near Canyonlands is Capitol Reef National Park. I've only visited there once, and for one specific purpose, to shoot the Milky Way over Temple of the Moon. A couple images of that landmark are included here, at least until I can return to Capitol Reef and explore more!.

Because of the position where this image was taken, Temple of the Moon (on left) and Temple of the Sun look similar in size, but the reality is, Temple of the Sun is much larger, and they are about the length of 3 football fields apart.
